Spotted Raphael catfish, scientifically known as Agamyxis pectinifrons, are a species of thorny catfish native to the Amazon basin. They’re also called “talking catfish” because they can make sounds by rubbing their pectoral spines together. These catfish are known for their striking appearance, with a black body covered in white spots and a white stripe on their tail. They are generally peaceful and non-aggressive, making them suitable for community aquariums.
