The Spiny-Headed Hillstream Loach (Gastromyzon ocellatus) is a peaceful, bottom-dwelling fish with a unique, streamlined body adapted for life in fast-flowing mountain streams. They are known for their distinctive markings, including a beautiful caudal fin and distinct scale definition. While generally peaceful, they can be territorial, especially over feeding spots, and are best kept in a group of at least 3-4. They are not suited for ordinary community tanks and require a sophisticated setup with strong currents, high oxygen levels, and pristine water conditions.
