NewCal Cocoa pods are a great way to add natural interest to your tank, while also providing important functions like drainage and soil aeration. Made from 100% natural cocoa shells, these pods are biodegradable and will break down over time, releasing valuable nutrients into the water.

Aquarium Preparation:

When used in an Aquarium we recommend boiling the Cocoa Pods for at least an hour to remove any tannins that may be present in the pod. To ensure the water quality will not be affected in your aquarium, place the boiled pod in a separate bin of water for a day before adding it to your aquarium. This process will also encourage the pod to sink.

This is an all-natural product. Variation in size, shape, and color will be apparent.
