The “Gold Barb,” also known as the “Golden Barb” or “Schuberti Barb,” is a popular aquarium fish, scientifially known as Barbodes semifascilatus. This fish is a variant of the wild, silvery-green Chinese Barb, selectively bred for its bright golden coloration. The gold form, developed through selective breeding in captivity, is more common in the aquarium trade than the wild form.
