Betta edithae is a species of gourami endemic to Indonesia where it occurs in Kalimantan, Sumatra and the Riau Archipelago. Edithae is a paternal mouthbrooder and the male incubates from 14 to 20 days. Incubation time can vary with water temperature.

A peaceful species that thrives in community tanks with other calm fish. Ideal tankmates include tetras, rasboras, and Corydoras catfish. Avoid housing them with aggressive or overly active species to prevent stress. Providing plenty of plants and hiding spots helps maintain harmony in the tank.
