The Scriptaphyosemion chaytori, or Chaytori Killifish, is a colorful but rare species that prefers shaded environments and can be top spawners. They are generally peaceful and relatively easy to care for. They are considered a top spawner and prefer to lay eggs in floating vegetation or surface mops. Breeding tanks should be shaded, and eggs incubate for 12 days to 3 weeks. Young fish can consume newly hatched brine shrimp, and they can be observed with the parents.
